STYLE: Me and My Blanket Cape

In college, I was the girl who walked around the student center at finals time with a blanket with Badtz Maru (a friend of Hello Kitty) wrapped around me. Yes. Very strange. But it was warm and comfortable. Both very important things you want to be while studying!

I have since moved on from Badtz Maru to the blanket cape. Much more appropriate for a 30 year old, and WAY more fashionable. This blanket cape has been going EVERYWHERE with me. It went to Vermont over New Years, it goes to work occasionally, and sometimes I even wear it in the apartment. It is just so cozy. Not as cozy as my Snuggie, but pretty freakin’ close. You can wear it over anything!

I paired my blanket cape with my new corduroy mini skirt and my favorite navy Everlane cashmere cropped sweater (also seen HERE). Who says you can’t wear black and navy together? I always do! Because it was a particularly chilly morning, I put on a pair of tights and my boots. These boots are so versatile. I wear them with skirts, dresses and even jeans! While they are definitely an investment piece, they have been well worth it. The leather is soft like butter.

To bring everything together, I added my new Coach Dinky cross body. It is so chic and fits all of my essentials, including my wallet, keys, phone, and lipgloss. I love the rich burgundy color and how perfectly it matches my blanket cape! It is such a classic piece, that I know will easily transition from season to season.
