CELEBRATE: Pi Day and 3.14 Deliciousness

As you may or may not know, yesterday was Pi Day. Pi as in 3.14159265359, or the ratio of a circles circumference to its diameter. It is a day on which math nerds and foodies UNITE!

A friend of mine in Boston is a huge fan of Pi Day and has a big celebration every year to commemorate it. Everyone brings a different kind of pie and then we feast! There is always a mix of sweet and savory options.  Since we are living in New Jersey we missed out this year. Sad face. If we had been in Boston I would have made my Chicken Pot Pie, Turkey Pot Pie, Thin Mint Shortbread Crusted Cheesecake, Apple Galette, or my personal favorite, Pumpkin Pie. Or I would have picked up a pie at Mike’s Pastry in the North End. I know its cheating but they are so freaking good!

I hope you celebrated and enjoyed a slice of pie yesterday. If not, it is never too late to make a pie today!
