LOCAL: Sunday Brunch at The Barrow House

A few weekends ago, E, Nathan, and I drove up to Clifton to try a new (to us) brunch spot called The Barrow House. I had seen some photos of their food on Instagram that looked delicious, so we decided to check it out! When we arrived, we were escorted into the main dining area. It is FILLED with rustic, American decor. They even have a cool old telephone booth! In addition to a HUGE indoor seating area, they also have a deck and a barn. Perfect for spring, summer, and fall eating! They also have several private rooms if you are looking to host a small party.

Their brunch menu had a MILLION options. Everything sounded and looked amazing – we even peeked onto neighboring tables. I was almost overwhelmed by how many different choices they had.

In the end, I decided to order the Seasonal Flatbread with yellow pepper & cauliflower purée, mozzarella, arugula, and garlic confit – the garlic confit sealed the deal for me. I would put garlic confit on everything if I could. The yellow pepper and cauliflower puree was SO GOOD. I would have eaten it with a spoon. The confit paired with the arugula on top added a nice bitter bite. I would DEFINITELY order this again. E ordered the shrimp and grits. He loved the cheesy grits paired with the perfectly cooked shrimp. The andouille sausage also added a nice heat to the dish. He basically licked the plate clean. And Nathan ate a pouch of baby food and Cheerios. What a decadent brunch we had!

We had a fabulous experience at The Barrow House and would highly recommend it for brunch. If you are in the area anytime soon you should definitely stop in.

Next time I want to sit on the deck!
