BABY: My Hospital Bag Checklist 2.0

When I was pregnant with Nathan, I put together a post called My Hospital Bag Checklist. Click HERE to read it. I stuck pretty closely to that list this time around, with a few exceptions. I added a few new items that I missed, and removed a few items that I didn’t use last time. My bag was definitely lighter this time. I tried NOT to overpack!

For Mama

The Bag – I used the same bag as I did last time. It is incredibly roomy and soft. Read more about it HERE.

My Wallet with my ID and Insurance Card

Aquaphor – I mentioned in a previous post that my lips are ALWAYS dry. The hospital seems to make them EVEN DRIER. Aquaphor is THE BEST lip stuff on the market. I have used it ever since I was on Accutane years ago. Whenever my lips are REALLY DRY it is their saving grace. I have a mini tube of it in every single bag I own.

Grippy Socks – My Pure Barre grippy socks are just so much better then the ones the hospital gives you.

Zip Up Sweatshirt and Robe

Lamaze Nursing Bra – This time I only brought one nursing bra.

Tumi Cord Pouch – Filled with two iPhone chargers with an extra long cord, my camera charger, and two charged backup camera batteries.

DSLR Camera – It was great to be able to take nice professional-like photos on my camera of Nathan and Nora just after they were born. This time around we even had the delivery nurse take a photo of E, Nora, and me just minutes after Nora was born.

Instax Camera – E took a Polaroid photo of me and Nathan and me and Nora just hours after they were born. I display them in these cute little Instax frames from Urban Outfitters. Not a necessity, but a cute little memento.

Pillow – I can confirm that hospital pillows are HORRIBLE. DEFINITELY bring your own if you can.

Going Home Outfit – stretchy comfy pants, a pullover sweatshirt and sneakers.

Extra Foldable Tote/Market Bag – to steal all of the hospital goodies (ice packs, Dermaplast, Tucks, mesh underwear, diapers, swaddles etc.)
